Our Story
Empowering Women to Unleash Their Purpose | Mental Wellness & Wealth | Sisterhood for Healing & Success
It is incredible how one small idea can grow into something truly special. We started with an idea of bringing like-minded women together to love, celebrate, support, encourage, and develop friendships. The first group of women began meeting once a month to be brilliant together back in 2009 in California. This monthly event was called No Boys Allowed (N.B.A.). Who knew it would birth into an entire movement to unite God's precious daughters?
Since its founding in 2016, WOPU has been proud to witness the impact of its support, helping women step into their purpose with confidence and a strong sisterhood behind them. This empowerment has benefitted like-minded women initiatives throughout California and Texas communities. .
Vision Statement
WOPU envisions a world where women of color embrace their God-given purpose, experience mental wellness, and walk boldly in their identity with confidence, clarity, and community. Through empowerment, sisterhood, and transformative resources, we strive to break generational cycles, foster self-alignment, and cultivate a legacy of healed, purpose-driven women who thrive mentally, spiritually, and professionally.
Our Purpose
WOPU is a sisterhood committed to guiding women of color from feeling stuck to living in their divine purpose. Through a holistic focus on mental wellness, we empower women to achieve mental wealth—a life enriched with self-worth, spiritual and self-alignment, peace of mind, purpose, professional excellence, physical health, financial stability, and balance. We provide a safe space for restoration, resilience, and leadership, ensuring every woman finds her strength, embraces her journey, and uplifts others along the way.
WOPU Goals
1. Empower Women’s Mental Wellness – Provide tools, resources, and programs that support emotional healing, self-worth, and mental resilience.
2. Foster Purpose-Driven Sisterhood – Create a safe, uplifting community where women encourage one another and hold each other accountable for their growth.
3. Promote Mental Wealth – Encourage women to cultivate balance in self-alignment, spiritual alignment, peace of mind, purpose, professional excellence, physical health, and financial stability.
4. Break Generational Barriers – Offer mentorship, coaching, and educational resources that equip women to overcome trauma, limiting beliefs, and societal obstacles.
5. Equip Purpose Pushers – Train and develop women who have overcome challenges to guide others toward healing and success.
6. Host Transformational Events & Workshops – Organize impactful gatherings that provide real-life application steps for personal and professional growth.
7. Secure Funding for Greater Impact – Increase fundraising and partnerships to expand WOPU’s outreach, providing scholarships, grants, and wellness programs to women in need.

Associate Membership: Dues are $200
-
Individuals who are employed by a non-profit are eligible for a $50 discount
-
Business Owners and Entrepreneurs, defined as one who currently has fifty percent (50%) or more ownership of a corporation, organization, or registered business entity. Dues are $400

Council Memberships (CM), are for organizations that are committed to the WOPU mission and supporting the advancement of women owned business. You can read more about the CM here. Organizations on the council pay $2,000 a year, for a two year commitment to help advance women businesses in our sisterhood.

Group Discounts, for organizations interested in sponsoring 10 or more women within their business, eligible discounts are:

Associate Membership for 10 members $1,500. Additional member is $150/ea.

Business Owners and Entrepreneurs for 10 members $3,000. Additional member is $300/ea.

Who is eligible for membership?
WOPU Terms of Membership
Women of Purpose United is open to minority women entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals. All levels of experience, expertise, and specialties are welcomed.

Membership is active for one year from the time you pay your dues.

In order to continue taking full advantage of membership, you must complete payment before 30 days past your renewal date or your membership will be canceled.

Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
-
If you wish to cancel the renewal of your membership after your year there is a 30 day grace period for refunds after your membership has renewed, after the 30 days refunds will not be issued.

Memberships are enrolled in auto-billing. Auto-billing can be turned off in your membership profile after completing payment.
